The name Book Harvest is an homage to our first event during the Chinese Mid-Autumn festival, which brings families and friends together to celebrate the harvest season and the coinciding full moon. Similar holidays are celebrated in countries across East and Southeast Asia, though each country has their own name for it.The name also alludes to what we hope visitors will find at our book pop-up – **a community gathering and a bountiful harvest of books! **
The Book Farmers

We are (from left to right) Chiyeung Lau, Selena Yip, and Sarah Yeung. We were inspired to organize the pop-up through our experiences as readers, artists, and leaders in the local A&PI community. For us, the pop-up is a continuation of our personal and professional lives. Chiyeung is a writer and has stories published in Ghost Parachute, Interstellar Literary, and more. Sarah is the owner of Sojourner Consulting and is an urban planner who has worked with stakeholders in Philadelphia Chinatown and other Asian communities. Selena is the executive director of the Philadelphia Asian American Film Festival, a festival that celebrates A&PI media and storytelling.
